Why Have Mock Exams Been Removed?
We have carefully reviewed how learners use our platform and how different study methods contribute to exam success. Based on this analysis, we have decided to remove the Mock Exams feature from both the web platform and mobile app.
The reason for this change is simple: Past Papers provide a more realistic and effective exam preparation experience.
Unlike mock exams, Past Papers are based on authentic exam themes and are presented in the same format as the real assessment. This allows you to:
- Experience questions structured in the way they appear in the actual exam.
- Become familiar with the style, layout, and pacing of real exam papers.
- Practise with content that more accurately reflects the exam experience.
- Build confidence by working through realistic exam scenarios.
By focusing on Past Papers, we can provide a preparation experience that better mirrors the conditions and expectations of the real test.
How to Simulate a Mock Exam
If you would still like to practise under exam-style conditions, you can easily create your own mock session using the Qbank Advanced Settings.
Step 1: Open the Qbank
Select the Full Qbank filter.
Step 2: Customise in Advanced Settings
You can tailor the session to match your preferred exam format by:
- Choosing the number of questions you want to complete.
- Setting a time limit to replicate exam timing.
- Turn Exam Conditions to On.
When Exam Conditions are enabled immediate feedback is restricted until the session is complete. The experience more closely reflects real exam conditions.
Recommended Study Approach
For the most effective preparation, we recommend:
- Completing Past Papers to gain experience with authentic exam formats and themes.
- Using Qbank sessions to strengthen knowledge in specific topic areas.
- Creating timed Qbank sessions with Exam Conditions enabled when you want additional exam-style practice.
This combination provides both targeted learning and realistic exam preparation, helping you maximise your chances of success.
