⚠️ If You See an Error Page
Message: “Error”
Sometimes an error page appears due to temporary maintenance or a technical glitch.
Here’s what to do:
- 🔍 Check your email — we’ll usually notify users of any scheduled downtime
- ❗ If no notification was received, please contact us with:
- A description of what you were doing when the error occurred
- A screenshot of the error (if possible)
- Your Pastest username
🐢 If the Website Feels Slow
To help us investigate, please provide the following:
- 🌍 Your country
- 🕒 The date and time (BST) you experienced slowness
- 📶 Whether you were using Wi-Fi or a wired connection
- 🔧 What you were doing (e.g. watching a video, answering questions)
🧪 Run a Traceroute
On Windows:
- Press
Windows key + R→ typecmd - In the Command Prompt, type:
tracert www.pastest.com
- Press Enter, then copy and send the full output to our support team
On macOS:
- Open Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities)
- Type:
traceroute www.pastest.com
- Press Enter, then copy and send the full output
🌐 If the Website Won’t Load
Try these steps:
- Switch to a different browser, device, or internet connection
- Try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi
- If on hospital Wi-Fi, check with IT — access may be restricted
If it’s still not working, send us:
- Your device, browser, and operating system
- A description of what you were doing
- A screenshot, if possible
- Your Pastest username
🎥 If Videos or Podcasts Won’t Play
Try:
- Different devices, browsers, or internet connections
- Switching to mobile data if hospital Wi-Fi is restricted

🔇 If Audio Isn’t Working or Is Too Quiet
- ✅ Make sure your volume is turned up and your speakers are on
- 🔁 Restart your device and browser
- 🎧 Use earphones, especially for Heart Sounds
- 🍎 For iPhone/iPad users — check that the mute switch isn’t on
🧹 General Troubleshooting Tips
Before reporting a problem, try these quick fixes:
- Open the site in an incognito/private window
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
- Switch to another device
- Use a VPN browser if you’re on a restricted network
- Disable browser extensions
- Make sure your browser is up to date
